Official Contest Rules


NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules.


Open to individuals who are legal residents of the State of Oklahoma, or any TFCU member. Must be at least 16 years old as of February 3, 2013 and a current high school, vocational school or college student at time of contest entry. Entries are accepted from Monday, February 18, 2013, to Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. For purposes of these Official Rules, all times Central Standard Time (CST).

Tinker Federal Credit Union, Third Degree Advertising, Wild Fire Interactive and Studio FJ employees, volunteers and their family members living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.


You may enter the Tinker Federal Credit Union Buck the Norm video scholarship contest by submitting/uploading your video (60 seconds or under) to the contest application at All required fields must be completed for eligibility.

Entries must be submitted before Wednesday February 27, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. CST,. Each entry must be submitted under one name. One entry per person. Entries must follow the theme presented for this contest. All entries become the exclusive property of Tinker Federal Credit Union (Sponsor) and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor reserves the right to discard any videos at its discretion. By submitting your entry, you grant permission to Tinker Federal Credit Union to post your submission on the website,, website and affiliate websites and other social media channels. Entries must be manually entered. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed or like means are prohibited and will be disqualified.


It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his/her e-mail address. (To do so, email: with the subject line, “CHANGE OF EMAIL ADDRESS”)

The Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone or computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic; including without limitation the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information online, or for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, destroyed, delayed, stolen, misdirected or illegible entries. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. Entries must be completely original content. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. In case of dispute as to identity of a winner, such entry will be declared made by the registered user of the e-mail account at the time the entry was submitted, and if a prize is won, and such registered user is a valid entrant, the prize will be awarded to such registered user.


The following prize(s) will be awarded: Number of Winners: One (1) Grand Prize winner, One (1) Runner-up winner, one (1) Third Place winner, one (1) Bucky’s Choice winner. Description of Prize: One (1) video will be selected as the grand prize winner and winner shall receive a $2,000 scholarship and Apple MacBook. One video will be selected as the Runner-up winner and winner shall receive a $1,000 scholarship. One (1) video will be selected as the Third Place winner and winner shall receive a $500 scholarship. One video will be selected as the Bucky’s Choice winner and winner shall receive an iPod Touch mp3 player. No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted except by the Sponsor in the event of prize unavailability. All federal, state, provincial, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.


Qualifying videos will be posted to on Thursday, February 28, 2013 for online voting to begin. Voting will take place Thursday, February 28, 2013 through Thursday, March 14, 2013. Winners will be announced Friday, March 15, 2013. All videos will compete head-to-head online during the voting time frame. The contestant with the most votes will receive the Grand Prize. The contestant with the second most votes will receive the Runner-up prize. The contestant with the third most votes will receive the Third place prize. TFCU will select an additional video for Bucky’s Choice.

A limit of one online vote per person is allowed for the entire contest period. The votes of any person who attempts to participate under multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to enter multiple times is in violation of Facebook’s rules and regulations as well as this contest’s rules and will be disqualified. Votes must be manually entered. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed or like means are prohibited and will be disqualified.


Selection of Winners: All videos will be screened by TFCU to determine eligibility to compete. Grand Prize, Runner-up and Third Place winners will be selected by online voting. Bucky’s Choice winner will be selected by TFCU. All decisions of the Sponsor and online voting are final and binding. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by e-mail or telephone. The Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for any late, lost, or misdirected notification, or for winner’s unsuccessful efforts to claim any prize.

By accepting and/or using prize, the winner agrees to the use of his/her video, name, voice and/or likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account. If any winner cannot be personally contacted within one (1) week of the initial phone notification, the original winner will be considered to have forfeited his or her prize.


By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final. Sponsor, agents and representatives of Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in the Contest; or (vi) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel Contest at any time if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Contest.

By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold Sponsor and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives of Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
