The End of Black Friday?

Have you ever seen those videos of people waiting in line at 5:00 a.m. in the morning after Thanksgiving to get into the mall so they get all those great deals? I know you have. We all know how they end. The doors open, people run into the store and literally step over one another if someone happens to be unlucky enough to fall trying to get that perfect gift. Amazing.

I do not participate in Black Friday. Never have. Never will. I have developed a Christmas shopping system with my brother and sister where we go three weeks before Christmas (at a normal time of day) and knock out all the gifts over a two-day period. It’s a great system. Plus, my sister is nice enough to volunteer her wrapping skills so my brother and I don’t have to do it.

Well, recently I discovered something that could revolutionize our Christmas shopping system: using our smart phones to shop. Check out the article here. Apparently, retailers have special offers and discounts strictly to shoppers using their phones and you can save some serious cash. What could be better? I won’t have to fight traffic or crowds and I’ll save time and money.

Have you used your phone to shop online? How did it go? Let us know in the comment section.
