“There's a jungle cat in the bathroom!”

Alan wakes up the next morning, stumbles to the bathroom and discovers the tiger. Scared out of his mind he runs to tell the other guys, yet another great scene. The idea of spending large amounts of money on a house can freak you out a bit too (I know I was) but there are tools out there that can help you figure things out.

The first thing you have to do is figure out how much house you can afford. There are tons of websites out there that provide easy-to-use calculators to figure what fits your budget. There is a good one here. You plug in your info and it will determine what you can afford. They’re easy to use and helpful in getting the whole process rolling.

I used one of these calculators. I plugged in my information and it gave me a breakdown of what I could afford with my budget. Boom. The next step is to educate yourself so you know what’s up when you begin working with the people who you’ll come into contact with throughout this process. We’ll touch on that next time.
