Be Prepared. Be Confident. Nail the Interview.

You know that moment when you walk into an interview, when your palms start sweating, and you feel so nervous that you might faint? Okay, maybe that is a little over dramatic, but in all seriousness, being interviewed is nerve racking! Who knew talking about yourself could be so stressful? Good news for me (and you too)! I’ve learned that the interview process is a skill, something that I can practice and get better at. There are many things I do to prepare for an interview.

Obviously, I know which position I am going to be interviewed for, but I also need to know what it is required of that position. And outside of the position, I need to know more about the company. I know, I know, more homework for the college students. But taking a few minutes to research the company could land you a second interview or even better, the job! Something else I have learned, I am the only me in this world, why not act myself? It is easy to become someone you’re not in an interview, but eventually your true colors are going to show anyway!

So be prepared, and be yourself, two very important factors of the interview process. If you want more tips on how to bring that pay check home visit the Nail the Interview link under the financial empowerment tab here at BucktheNorm.com. And while you’re there, check out the other helpful links as well!

Do you have any good tips that have worked for you in an interview?
